Dr. Tharratt replaces Dr. Dwight Winslow M.D. as the Statewide Medical Executive, who is retiring after a long and distinguished medical career in both public and private service.

This contract is designed to provide cost-effective health care services to adult inmates at California’s 33 prisons.

The fourth annual analysis of California’s inmate deaths focused on three areas: trends in inmate deaths; identifying lapses in health care; and trends in the number of unnecessary inmate deaths.
