California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS)
provides care that includes medical, dental and mental health services to California’s incarcerated population at all 33 California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) institutions statewide.

To facilitate the successful reintegration of the individuals in our care back to their communities equipped with the tools to be drug-free, healthy, and employable members of society by providing education, treatment, rehabilitative, and restorative justice programs, all in a safe and humane environment.

The California Model is an innovative, system-wide change within CDCR/CCHCS leveraging global best practices to improve the well-being of those who work at and live in state prisons.
